Chicxulub crater

A large terrestrial impact crater, located around the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, where it is now largely buried under sediment. It has been identified as the crater associated with an impact event 65 million years ago which appears to be linked with the mass extinction at that time of living species, including the dinosaurs.
